🏸 Invitation to the Racketeer League – Summer Badminton Tournament!

Hello everyone!

As mentioned earlier, it's now time for the Racketeer League – a new, informal, and fun summer league where we keep the badminton and community spirit going throughout the warm months ☀️

🔍 What is the Racketeer League?

The Racketeer League is a tournament for D/C-level singles players in VIK. Here you'll get:

Qualified and evenly matched opponents
Plenty of exciting matches
A strong community with both old and new club mates

We match levels so everyone gets both fun and challenging matches.

📋 Format and structure

The league is inspired by the UEFA Nations League:

Players are divided into groups (3-5 players) based on level
Everyone plays against each other in the group (singles)
After each month, there are promotions and relegations
Matches are played flexibly – either at the DGI-house or at Vestereng Sports Zone
Each round lasts 1 month
Players cover their own expenses for shuttlecocks and court rental

💸 Price and registration

Price: 100 kr. (50 kr. for startup and 50 kr. for the first round – covers prizes and operations)
Registration: Send 100 kr. via MobilePay to 2411RA – write "Racketeer league"
Deadline: No later than 27/4
First round: 1/5–1/6
(Thereafter: 50 kr. per tournament round)

👉 Your registration is only valid when payment has been received. We do not follow up manually – remember this!

🏆 Prizes

After each monthly round:

🥇 1st place: 125 kr. + traveling trophy
🥈 2nd place: 75 kr.

At the end of the season, there will be a playoff with gold medals and eternal glory 🏅
(Rules for the playoff will follow later)

📅 Playing dates and deadlines

1st round: ends no later than 1/6
2nd round: ends no later than 1/7
3rd round: ends no later than 1/8
(possible 4th round: ends no later than 1/9)

🕹 Rules

Best of 3 sets to 21 points (max 30)
At 20-20, play continues until a player leads by 2 points
Break at 11 points and between sets
Shuttlecocks: standard speed 78 (can be agreed individually)
Venue and time are freely arranged within the group
In case of cancellation without a replacement match: ruled as a loss
Fair play and good spirits are required 😊
