What is the Racketeer Ranking?
The Racketeer Ranking is a points-based ranking that tracks player performance over time. Points are awarded based on your placement in your group each round, and the ranking is updated continuously after completed rounds.
How are points awarded?
Points depend on your placement in the group and the tier the group is classified as. Higher tiers award more points.
Points by tier (4-player group)

In 5-player groups, 5th place receives approximately 75% of the 4th-place points. In 6-player groups, 5th place receives ~75% and 6th place ~50% of the 4th-place points.
Playoff bonus
If a round includes a playoff phase, you can earn additional points on top of your group placement:
Win bonus: Points for each playoff match won.
Winner bonus: Extra points for winning the final (the winner receives the win bonus twice for the final match).
Finalist bonus: Extra points for finishing as runner-up.

How is group placement determined?
When players are tied on points, placement is decided in the following order:
Match points (3 for a win, 0 for a loss)
Head-to-head result
Sets won
Points scored
Points difference (scored minus conceded)
How is the total score calculated?
Your total score on the Racketeer Ranking is the sum of your 7 best results within the past 12 months. Only your strongest performances count.
Female players in men's tournaments
Female players competing in a men's category earn points as if the group were one tier higher than its actual classification. For example, a female player in a Tier B group receives points equivalent to Tier A.
How often is the ranking updated?
The ranking is updated after every completed round, so you can always track your progress and compare with other players.
What is the individual ranking?
The individual ranking uses a dynamic ELO rating that is adjusted after every match based on opponent strength and match outcome.
Initial ELO
Your starting ELO is assigned based on the skill level you select when creating your profile:
- Beginner – 1500 points
- Hobby – 1550 points
- Club D – 1600 points
- Club C – 1650 points
- Club B – 1700 points
- Club A – 1750 points
- Club M / Elite – 1800 points
If no level is selected, you start at 1600 points.
How does the ELO system work?
ELO compares your rating to your opponent's rating and adjusts your score depending on the outcome. Beating a stronger player rewards you more than beating a weaker one.
What affects how many points I gain or lose?
- Expected win: You beat a player with a lower or similar rating.
- Unexpected win: You beat a player with a significantly higher rating.
- Expected loss: You lose to a player with a higher rating.
- Unexpected loss: You lose to a player with a lower rating.
Can I lose points on an expected loss?
Yes — but only when the rating gap is small. With very large gaps (above ~450 ELO points) you lose no points for an expected loss.
When is ELO updated?
Your ELO rating is updated automatically after every individual match.
Cancellation
Canceling no later than the day before match day results in no penalty.
Injury during match
Unfinished sets will be registered as 21–0 for the opponent.
No-show
No-shows may result in suspension or permanent exclusion.
Female players may participate in men’s tournaments.
Male players may not participate in women’s tournaments.
Rankings are kept separately.
